My First Time on the Salesforce World Tour Circuit - Boston

Salesforce truly knows how to throw an event. Attending as a new Conganeer and novice to Salesforce, the Boston World Tour surpassed my expectations. From the beautiful venue, sessions, delicious food, delightful people, and appearances from the Dropkick Murphys and Tom Brady, the Boston stop of the Salesforce World Tour has me eager for the next one in Chicago.

Though a very brief work trip, it definitely started and ended with a bang. Once my flight landed I rushed to meet my fellow Conga troopers at a popular BBQ spot near Fenway. Over decadent biscuits, savory collard greens, pulled pork, and a peanut butter cookie the size of a basketball, we discussed the game plan for the next day.

At the Hynes Convention Center, Salesforce rolled out their sparkling, white carpets for us and many other sponsors. From when my alarm sounded at 6:30 am it was a frantic whirl-wind of excitement getting to our booth and setting up for our shining moment. The morning rolled out slowly, though I was thankful for the extra time to prepare for what we were in for. Thanks to the irresistible muffins and breakfast pastries, I was geared up and stoked for the crowds to come.

And they did. Waves of attendees flocked to our booth, not only because they were intrigued by our awesome, Hawaiian T-shirts, but because Conga was a hot topic within the Salesforce community. Many people came with great questions about our product and how it could help their companies succeed. What I was most excited about was the amount of current Conga customers and partners who just wanted to come by and share how they were using our products, with some even eagerly looking to meet their personal Business Analyst.

It was clear that our current users genuinely appreciated Conga and were psyched for what else we had to offer.  Even members from other booth presenters approached us to ask about our company given the buzzing word on the street, and they seemed pretty impressed with our cool ideas. (It was especially funny when we were asked if we were located in Hawaii hence the floral attire). The DJ kept the dance music pulsing and the energy was lively as our demo screen continued to create and distribute beautiful, sophisticated documents for the crowd.

The momentum continued through the very last breakout sessions as Roger Mitchell from Arkus Consulting shared his favorite apps in the “Extend Salesforce with the AppExchange” session. Josie Chiles even did a demo of how to create and send a proposal with Conga Composer.  Thanks to the awesome session shout-outs, we were busy demoing straight through to the end of the networking reception.

The twelve hour day of networking and demoing seemed much shorter than I’d expected thanks to the high energy and heaps of fun that we had. My coworkers warned me about how non-stop busy we would be, and it was incredible to experience the recognition and dynamic gathering in the flesh. It was an amazing start to the Salesforce World Tour season, and I can’t thank everyone who came by the booth enough – you made my first Salesforce event experience awesome. To top it all off, we ended our stay with a giant, juicy lobster – like a true Bostonian would. Next stop, Chicago!
