Jason Hubbard, vice president of marketing at Cirrus Insight joins us today to talk about how customers using both Conga Composer and Cirrus Insight can work more efficiently.
Earlier this year Cirrus Insight released support for custom Salesforce buttons inside of Gmail, allowing users to access more Salesforce functionality and many potential AppExchange apps from inside their inbox. In his post, Jason explains how our joint customers can initiate a Conga Composer solution within Gmail.
Document automation with Conga is an incredibly powerful productivity tool. The ability to fire off customized documents, reports and presentations with the click of a button streamlines workflows and minimizes mistakes when generating customized documents.
Whether it be a proposal, an invoice or any other document you use Conga Composer to generate, more often than not you are generating those documents in response to an email. In this case, you have to leave your inbox, go into Salesforce, look up that person’s record and then trigger the appropriate document to be generated and delivered.
Imagine how much easier would it be if you could generate those documents right from Gmail without having to leave your inbox. Well, Conga customers that use Gmail can do just that with Cirrus Insight. Best of all, your Conga custom buttons are natively supported by Cirrus Insight out of the box with no need for setup or customization.
As you open an email in Gmail, Cirrus Insight will automatically look up that person’s record in Salesforce and display it in the side panel.
To access your custom buttons simply navigate to the appropriate object tab in Cirrus Insight. In most cases this will be the person tab.
Once you are on the person tab, you will see a button with three dots. Click that button, and all your custom buttons related to that contact will be displayed. Simply select the Conga Composer solution you wish to run, and it will automatically launch right from Gmail, merge based off of the contact currently loaded in Cirrus Insight, generate the document and distribute it the same as if you were running the solution in Salesforce. It’s that simple!
